Advice on how NOT to write a paragraph

Sometimes its the small things we learn that are the ones that make the most impact on our practice as writers. Here’s some advice on how (and just as importantly, how NOT) to write paragraphs. I remember some of this from school. Some I remember having to struggle through and learn for myself during the slog of hours of writing my own PhD in the days before there was good advice freely available from experts via the web.
